Claresholm Mayor Chris Dixon received the flag and expressed his delight that Claresholm would be hosting the new games.
Brian Wright explained that the final act of the games is normally the extinguishing of the torch that is lit at the opening ceremonies of the games. The fire continued to burn, because some events were still in progress.
