Barlow statement in response to Waterton visitor centre decision

Press release - The Member of Parliament for Foothills, Alberta, John Barlow, issued the following statement in response to the Environment Minister’s decision on the new location for the Waterton Lakes National Park’s visitor center:

“I’m pleased to hear the government is following through on a commitment the previous Conservative government made in July 2015 on the largest infrastructure plan in the history of Parks Canada for projects across Waterton Lakes National Park, including a new visitor center. When complete the new center will welcome more than 400,000 visitors annually.

Conservative Caucus launches Alberta Jobs Taskforce to address growing jobs crisis

Foothills MP John Barlow -  In response to the growing jobs crisis in the province of Alberta, today the Conservative Caucus launched the Alberta Jobs Taskforce.

Unemployment is quickly reaching a crisis situation in Alberta. Since the beginning of 2015, the number of Albertans out of work has nearly doubled to 200,000. For a province that was, until recently, the economic engine of Canada, this situation affects the entire country and demands swift and dedicated action.

Office of John Barlow, MP for Foothills - On July 29-30 MP John Barlow and his team rode 200km from Crowsnest Pass to the Bar U Ranch and finally to Camp Horizon raising $10,500 for Camp Horizon’s $10 million rejuvenation initiative to replace aging infrastructure and dormitories at the camp.

Doctor Assisted Dying is one of the most important and difficult issues I have had to address during my time as a Member of Parliament.

I have looked to the residents of Foothills for input and direction in dealing with a highly complex and deeply sensitive issue. It was clear at the open houses and the correspondence that I have received, this is an important issue for Foothills residents.
