Triple fatality on Hwy 22 near Priddis

RCMP Alberta – This morning at 3:10 a.m., Turner Valley RCMP responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 22 west of Priddis Valley Road.

As a result of the collision three adults are deceased, and one adult has been transported to a hospital via STARS Air Ambulance.

Two vehicles were travelling on Highway 22 in opposite directions and collided head-on.  The 26-year-old male driver and his 31-year-old female passenger in a car were both declared deceased on scene.  The 34-year-old male driver of an SUV was also declared deceased while the 27-year-old female passenger of the SUV was transported to a Calgary hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injuries.

Investigation into this collision continues by the RCMP Collision Analyst.  Resources from Okotoks and Cochrane RCMP provided assistance.

The RCMP have now re-opened the highway to travel.

Alberta government announces nearly $9 million in southern Alberta land and water conservation grants

Government of Alberta - The province is providing nearly $9 million to three non-profit groups to protect ranchlands, river habitats and watersheds in southern Alberta.  Funding from the Alberta Land Trust Grant Program will go towards six projects throughout southern Alberta, including three large ranches. The grants protect watersheds and wildlife habitats and help keep ranchlands intact.

Fatal MVC near Priddis

RCMP Alberta - On October 7, 2016 at 10:22 am Turner Valley RCMP responded to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 22 W, near Coal Mine Road, in Priddis, AB. The sedan was travelling westbound on Highway 22, when it left the road, and rolled in the North ditch. There were two occupants in the sedan. The male driver, 85 years old, was pronounced dead on scene. The 87 year old female passenger was transported via ground ambulance to a Calgary hospital in critical condition.  The RCMP will not be releasing the names of the persons involved in this collision. Police are still investigating this collision.
