Hanna RCMP investigating stolen livestock trailer


RCMP Alberta - Sometime around June 5, 2018 a livestock trailer was stolen from a parking lot in Hanna.  The trailer is a 2014 "Merritt" 5th wheel aluminum stock trailer. It is 32 feet long and has 3 axles. At the time of being stolen it had Alberta plate 5EL243 on the rear (the attached photo is the actual trailer that was stolen).

Serious collision involving SUV and snowplow near Hanna

RCMP Alberta - On March 12, 2017 at approximately 9:35 am Hanna RCMP responded to a collision between an SUV and a snowplow. A west bound SUV was travelling on Highway 9 just east of Range Road 132, east of Hanna, when it re-ended a west bound snowplow. The driver, a 38 year old female, and her two sons, aged 15 and 12, were also in the vehicle. The 15 year old boy was transported by STARS to a Calgary hospital in serious condition. The 38 year old women and 12 year old boy were not injured. All possible contributing factors related to this collision are being considered, and the collision remains under investigation.

2017 Hawks Classic basketball tournament

The 2017 Hawks Classic annual basketball tournament was hosted by Pincher Creek's Matthew Halton High School. A total of 16 Boys and Girls SV teams played a total 24 games at the Matthew Halton and St. Michael's gymnasiums over the course of two days, February 24 and 25.  The final games were barnburners.  Pincher Creek's Dragons Boys upset the Livingstone  Sabres 52-47 to earn Gold.  Silver for the Sabres.  Kainai's Lady Warriors defeated Hanna's Hawks 53-45 to earn Gold.  Silver for Hanna.  Halton's Hawks Girls defeated St. Michael's Dragons 62-59 for Girls Bronze.  Nanton's J.T. Foster Knights defeated the Halton Hawks 89-69 for Boys Bronze.

Hanna calves missing


RCMP Alberta - Sometime between July 22 and August 6, 2016, owners of a rural property near Highway 36 and Township Road 33-4 noted two of their calves went missing; the calves are a Saler-Angus cross. Both calves are red or red and white in colour.  The RCMP is reminding the public to report any suspicious persons or vehicles immediately by calling the complaint line at (403) 854-3391.

Bantam Huskies overcome Hanna Colts in close, aggressive game

The Crowsnest Pass/Pincher Creek Bantam Huskies have another win under their belts this season. On Saturday December 19 they hosted the Hanna Colts at Pincher Creek's Memorial Community Centre Arena. The game was high intensity and aggressive, and was tied 1-1 throughout the majority of it. The Huskies were playing well, but were hindered by penalties. They cleaned their game up in the third period however, winning 4-2.
