Triple fatality on Hwy 22 near Priddis

RCMP Alberta – This morning at 3:10 a.m., Turner Valley RCMP responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 22 west of Priddis Valley Road.

As a result of the collision three adults are deceased, and one adult has been transported to a hospital via STARS Air Ambulance.

Two vehicles were travelling on Highway 22 in opposite directions and collided head-on.  The 26-year-old male driver and his 31-year-old female passenger in a car were both declared deceased on scene.  The 34-year-old male driver of an SUV was also declared deceased while the 27-year-old female passenger of the SUV was transported to a Calgary hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injuries.

Investigation into this collision continues by the RCMP Collision Analyst.  Resources from Okotoks and Cochrane RCMP provided assistance.

The RCMP have now re-opened the highway to travel.

Turner Valley RCMP Investigate Child's Death

RCMP Alberta - Turner Valley RCMP are investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy that occurred yesterday.

RCMP Alberta - On October 18, 2017 at approximately 4:00 am, a male suspect broke into the Turner Valley Pharmacy located at 101 Sunset Boulevard, Turner Valley, Alberta. Once inside, the suspect proceeded to the rear narcotics counter. A quantity of lower power opiod like sedatives were taken, including small bottles of Apo-Tramadol (central nervous system pain reliever) and Apo-Temazepam (sedative causing profound respiratory depression). These substances were in the pill form. The subject was in the store for less than 5 minutes.

Transportation funding announced for Pincher Creek, Black Diamond, and Turner Valley

Government of Alberta - Brian Malkinson, MLA for Calgary-Currie, on behalf of Brian Mason, Minister of Infrastructure and Minister of Transportation, and Black Diamond Mayor Glen Fagan announced more than $1.3 million for new transit projects in three Alberta communities.  

The funding will allow Pincher Creek to purchase a fully accessible compressed natural gas bus and build five bus shelters for improved user safety and comfort.

Drug cornucopia bust in Turner Valley

RCMP Alberta -  On July 10, 2017, Okotoks RCMP General Investigation Section in partnership with Turner Valley RCMP arrested two individuals for possession of controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking. Investigators conducted a traffic stop on Main Street in Turner Valley which led them into entering a drug investigation.

Ford F350 containing cinematographer equipment stolen in Millarville area

RCMP Alberta - On April 24, 2017 the Turner Valley RCMP received a complaint of a stolen pick up truck in the Millarville area. The white 2009 Ford F350 Crew Cab was taken sometime during the night from a quonset on a property situated on 240 Street West, just north of Highway 549. The truck was bearing Alberta licence SBZ046, had a white topper, Cabela's decals on the box and contained approximately $172,000 worth of cinematographer equipment.

Okotoks, Turner Valley and Vulcan RCMP looking for man wanted on numerous offences

RCMP Alberta - RCMP in southern Alberta are looking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted on charges from three detachments.

28 year old Cole Stuart Mclean is wanted on numerous charges including Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, Failing to Appear, Possession of stolen property, and failing to comply with recognizance. The charges stem from investigations in Vulcan, Okotoks and Turner Valley. He is known to travel throughout southern Alberta and may be operating a white, Dodge, 1-ton mega cab, flat deck truck with a tool box on the back.

Fatal Turner Valley MVC

RCMP Alberta – On September 27 at 10:06 a.m., Turner Valley RCMP responded to a single vehicle rollover southwest of Turner Valley on 208 Street West. The SUV was travelling southbound on a gravel road when it left the road, and rolled in the east ditch. There were three occupants in the SUV; two of them were ejected from the vehicle. The 20-year-old female driver was pronounced deceased on scene. The 20-year-old female and 21-year-old male passengers were transported via ground ambulance to a Calgary hospital. The RCMP will not be releasing the names of the persons involved in this collision.

Motorcyclist dies in Longview area collision, 5 others injured

RCMP Alberta - RCMP in Turner Valley assisted by the RCMP Collision Analyst continue to investigate a two vehicle collision on Highway 22 near the intersection of Highway 540 near Longview, Alberta which occurred on July 31, 2016 at approximately 5:00 pm. Initial investigation shows a northbound motorcycle with two riders struck the side of an SUV that was performing a U-turn across the Highway. The 45 year old male operator of the motorcycle died at Oilfields Hospital (in Black Diamond) while the 12 year old passenger was flown by STARS Air Ambulance to Children's Hospital in Calgary, where he is in stable condition. The four occupants of the SUV were transported to local hospital with minor injuries.

Although the investigation is ongoing, speed and driver error are believed to be factors. A 39 year old male from Washington State has been charged with an Unsafe U-Turn under Section 29(1) Use of Highway and Rules of the Road Regulations.

Fraudulent STARS lottery calls reported in Turner Valley

RCMP Alberta - RCMP are warning residents to be cautious of telephone fraud scams. More recently the STARS lottery. This scam involves one or several persons who contact individuals by phone claiming to be from STARS Lottery advising their number was randomly selected as a winner of $750,000.00 and a new vehicle. However, in order to collect the prize the victim is required to pay various fees in advance. Victims either never hear back again or receive further requests for money.
