Matthew Halton's A and B Girls Hawks hosted their annual invitational tournament last weekend. Six A teams and four B teams participated in the two day event, for a total of approximately 120 athletes. Several of the teams are not members of the Chinook Basketball League, so the results don't count toward the regular season, but the competition was simultaneously fierce and friendly, and the teams were for the most part well matched. It was an opportunity for all the teams to play against competitors they don't usually face, as well as against some more familiar teams. Fort Macleod's F.P. Walshe Flyers continued their undefeated season by winning the A division. Halton's Hawks finished second in the A division. Mountain View's Grizzlies finished first in the B division, with second place going to Kainai's T.M.S. Eagles.
