Chris Davis - Halton's Senior Hawks Girls Rugby team finished third in their league pool and seventh at provincials this season.  Their last home game was also the quarter final game, held at Sproule Field n nearly perfect weather against Cardston.  The Hawks won by a wide margin.  The Hawks went on the road to play the #1 team in the league , Taber's W.R. Meyers , in the semi-finals.  Taber blanked the Hawks in that game.  On June 9 and 10 the Hawks were in Black Diamond for provincials, due to some Tier 3 teams dropping out, where they finished 7th after two close losses and a win.

Chris Davis - Matthew Halton's Senior Hawks placed second in Zones after a wide margin playoff win against Vulcan at home at Sproule Field on Tuesday May 24 against Vulcan's Hawks and an away Zones final loss against Taber on Monday May 30, resulting in Tier 3 Zones Silver for the Pincher Creek team. The Halton Hawks will be travelling to Lethbridge this weekend to compete in Provincials.

Girls Rugby – Hawks defeat Vulcan, Flyers blank Hawks

On Thursday April 21 Pincher Creek's Girls Hawks rugby team hosted Fort Macleod's F.P. Walshe Flyers at the Sproule field in Pincher Creek. The Flyers gained ground early in the SV game, winning 17–0 in spite of the valiant effort by the Hawks. Hawks #12 Rebecca Lowry put in a lot of work that game, making good defensive plays and coming very close to making a try. Things went better for the JV Hawks. Hayley Williams and Taylor Fiest led the way for their 27-19 win by scoring two tries each.

Hawks begin 2016 rugby season with big wins against Medicine Hat

Pincher Creek's Senior (SV) and Junior (JV) Girls Hawks Rugby SQUADS hosted Medicine Hat for the first local game of the 2016 season at Sproule Field on the evening of April 23. Pouring rain and wind didn’t deter these ladies. The SV Hawks won their game 30-7, and the JV Hawks winning 32 – 0. In the SV game tries Taylor Wells scored two tries, with one each by Danika Staryzk, Leigh Erickson, Ashtyn Duncan and Rebecca Lowry. In the JV game Sarah Kirby scored three tries, with 1 try each scored by Grace Kirkness, Hayley Williams, Addy Halibert, and one convert scored by Somer Hagley. The Hawks are scheduled to play their next home game against Fort Macleod on April 21, again at Sproule field.

It was a do or die situation for the Halton Hawks Sr. Girls Rugby team as they could have faced elimination in their first playoff game of the season. The Hawks faced off against the Cardston Cougars on Monday May 25th, ultimately winning a difficult battle 5-0.

Pincher Creek's JV and SV Hawks hosted their Lethbridge Collegiate Institute (LCI) counterparts for a windy evening of rugby at Sproule Field on Tuesday April 28.  Both Hawks squads showed improvement over their previous games, their season openers against Winston Churchill's squads last week, but were still blanked by wide margins by the LCI squads.

Rugby was held during the SASG at Sproule Field in Pincher Creek on Thursday, July 3. It was a hot day that had the crowd looking for shade and reaching for ice drinks while five teams on the field threw themselves into their game. The games were modified, having the teams out on the field for 14 minutes total in the course of a game, and only 7 players on the field and there was still great action. Boys had two teams competing: Lethbridge and County of Warner. Girls had three teams competing: County of Warner, MD of Pincher Creek, and the MD of Taber. The boys teams played 2 games and Lethbridge won both, securing the gold medal. The girls teams ultimately had Warner pull ahead and win the gold, Taber securing silver and Pincher Creek getting bronze.

Pincher Creek's Senior Hawks Girls Rugby team participated in the Alberta Schools Athletic Association (ASAA) 2014 Provincials, held in Calgary on June 6 and 7.  The Hawks won the Sportsmanship banner for Tier 1 Girls.  A fitting end to the season (and for some their High School rugby career) for this vibrant group of young ladies, generally known for their sportsmanship in all sports, including on the often less than polite rugby pitch.

Pincher Creek's Senior and JV Rugby Girls hosted their Lethbridge Chinook Coyotes counterparts at Sproule Field on Tuesday evening, May 20.  It was the last home game of the regular season for the Hawks, and they made the most of it.  The weather was beautiful, relatively warm and only a light breeze stirring as the Senior teams faced each other on the pitch.

Pincher Creek's JV Hawks hosted their Crowsnest Pass Pandas counterparts for what turned out to be a very wet rugby game at the Matthew Halton School field on Wednesday evening, May 15. Both teams played an enthusiastic game despite a rain that didn't let up until it was all over. Scorekeeping was a bit sketchy, but it was reported that the Hawks won the game by a comfortable 25-15 margin. It was the first time these teams met this season.

Pincher Creek's Senior Varsity and Junior Varsity Hawks Girls squads hosted their Taber Rebels counterparts for a couple of feisty rugby games on the evening of May 8 at Sproule field.  Unusual for rugby in this town, the weather co-operated, with blue skies above, very little wind, and an almost dry field.

Pincher Creek's Hawks Senior and Junior Girls Rugby Hawks hosted Fort Macleod's J.T. Foster's Flyers for a chilly first game of the 2014 season at Sproule Field on the evening of April 23.   There was a third particpant on the field - the wind.  Temperatures hovered around 6°, but with the blistering westerly wind it felt a whole lot colder.  That didn't deter the hardy young ladies of the pitch from giving it their all, but the team with the wind at their back had a definite advantage, an advantage that reversed at the halfs.
