Government of Alberta - The Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis Commission (AGLC) has finalized contracts with licensed cannabis producers and agreements for distribution and warehousing well ahead of the legalization date for cannabis.

Regulations provide Canadians and stakeholders with details on how cannabis legalization and regulation will be implemented starting October 17, 2018

Health Canada - Protecting the health and safety of Canadians is a top priority for the Government of Canada. That’s why the Government of Canada introduced the Cannabis Act—a new legal framework that puts in place a comprehensive public health approach to cannabis. On June 21, 2018, the Cannabis Act received Royal Assent, an important step toward legalizing and strictly regulating cannabis in Canada.

Minister Ganley on federal cannabis legislation

Swann calls for greater public education on cannabis health effects after hundreds of Calgary cannabis retail applications

Press release - Alberta Liberal MLA David Swann is calling for more public education on the health effects of cannabis after more than 220 cannabis retail applications were made in less than 24 hours to the City of Calgary.  Dr. Swann stated, “With an avalanche of applications on the first day its clear entrepreneurs believe Albertans are interested in this product. What isn’t clear is that the public has enough information on the health impact of cannabis.
