Date arranged online ends in robbery in Springbrook

RCMP Alberta - RCMP continue to investigate a robbery that occurred on a rural road south of Springbrook Airport that left a male with serious injuries. The victim reported he met a female through an online date and drove to a rural location south of the Springbrook airport. While parked in the area the victim was approached by three additional suspects and attacked. The incident appeared to be a planned robbery.

The three additional suspects included two males and a female with a medium build.

Blackfalds victim services continues to provide support to the victim.

Armed robbery in Springbrook, vehicle stolen

RCMP Alberta - On September 27, 2017 at approximately 11:15 pm, a resident of Springbrook, Alberta was robbed and attacked by several individuals armed with a firearm and machete style knife. A struggle ensued between the male and his attackers relinquishing them of their firearm. The attackers then proceeded to continue striking the male with a machete style knife causing serious bodily harm. The male then had his vehicle stolen after being attacked. The male was able to walk away from the scene, into Springbrook, where a vehicle stopped and assisted the male with his injuries and calling for emergency services. The male was transported by ground ambulance to Red Deer Regional Hospital for treatment. His wounds are considered serious, but not life threatening.

The victim's stolen vehicle is a 2007 Black Dodge Nitro bearing Alberta licence plate BDR0343. Should this vehicle be located it is requested that you call police immediately.

This matter is being investigated by members of the Blackfalds RCMP Detachment.

Home invasion and assault with a weapon in Blackfalds

RCMP Alberta - On August 22, 2017 at approximately 12:33 pm, Blackfalds RCMP responded to a call to assist Emergency Services at a residence where a 47 year old male had been shot. Three male subjects in a dark blue Chevrolet Pickup truck had pulled in behind the residence, entering the garage, shoving a 35 year old female to the ground.  The subjects were wearing black bandanas covering a portion of their face.  The three males than entered the residence through the back confronting the 47 year old male.  An altercation occurred, during which the 47 year old resident was shot.

Blackfalds police stop leads to multiple charges

RCMP Alberta - At approximately 100 am on March 3, 2017. Blackfalds RCMP assisted the Alberta Sheriffs with a vehicle stop. Investigations revealed a large amount of stolen personal mail, as well as a stolen 22 calibre rifle. The suspect provided a false name to the officers initially, however investigations revealed his identity and the numerous outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Wanted Blackfalds man arrested on multiple charges

RCMP Alberta: On January 23, 2017 at approximately 2:00 pm, Blackfalds RCMP responded to a complaint from a citizen of a vehicle stuck in the ditch, making attempts to get out. The citizen obtained the licence plate and it was determined the vehicle was stolen. RCMP arrived on scene and located a male attempting to flee in another vehicle. The male, Matthew MacDonald, was arrested for Possession of Stolen Property. Further checks revealed MacDonald to have 26 outstanding charges on warrants.

Linn Valley home invasion suspects sought by RCMP

RCMP Alberta - On January 9, 2017 at approximately 8:00 am, Blackfalds RCMP responded to a home invasion at a rural property in Linn Valley. Three suspects entered a residence carrying long barrelled guns, once inside the victims were held at gun point and the suspects went through the home. The suspects fled the residence after taking cash and personal items belonging to the victims.

Lacombe area towing advisory issued

RCMP Alberta - Central Alberta Integrated Traffic Services has put out a Tow Advisory on Highway 2 from Lacombe to Highway 42 due to the extreme slippery road conditions. Police said that it is dangerous at this time to be towing vehicle in this area.

Armed robbery at gas bar in Blackfalds, suspects sought

RCMP Alberta - Blackfalds RCMP are looking for the public assistance in identifying two males who robbed the Co-op Gas Bar in Blackfalds.

On January 5, 2017 at approximately 6:40 am the Blackfalds RCMP responded to an armed robbery at the Co-op Gas Bar in Blackfalds. Two male suspects entered the store with long barrel firearms and pointed them at the store employees, demanding cash and cigarettes. The suspects left with an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes which was put in a black backpack. They fled the scene in a dark grey 4 door vehicle, possibly a Mazda, last seen heading northbound on Broadway Avenue in Blackfalds.

Serious Collision on Highway 2A south of Red Deer

RCMP Alberta - At approximately 12:45 pm on December 23, 2016, the Blackfalds RCMP with the assistance of Red Deer County emergency services responded to a collision on Highway 2A and Lantern Street near Gasoline Alley. The investigation to date has revealed that both driver's involved in the collision have sustained serious injuries. We are seeking the assistance of anybody that directly witnessed the collision.

Blackfalds RCMP locate remains of missing Red Deer woman

RCMP Alberta - On December 16, 2016 Blackfalds RCMP were alerted to the discovery of human remains on a rural property. Red Deer RCMP Forensic Identification Section and Major Crimes South completed an examination of the scene and investigated the circumstances of the discovery of these human remains.

ATM stolen from motel in Blackfalds

RCMP Alberta - Blackfalds RCMP are investigating the theft of an ATM. On December 16, 2016 at approximately 10:30 PM two masked suspects drove up to main door of the Howard Johnson Motel located on the east side of Gasoline Alley, Red Deer. The suspects were driving an older sandy coloured Ford quad cab with a sanding hopper attached. The suspects stole an ATM from the main lobby and departed the scene heading north towards Red Deer.

ASIRT completes RCMP use of force investigation into Blackfalds area arrest

Govwernment of Alberta - On January 23, 2015, pursuant to s. 46.1 of the Police Act, the Director of Law Enforcement directed the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) to investigate the circumstances surrounding a broken rib and collapsed lung sustained by a 47-year-old man during an arrest on December 31, 2014.

Blackfalds RCMP on scene of explosion

RCMP Alberta - Blackfalds RCMP are at the scene of a tanker trailer explosion that took the life of one man this afternoon in the Burnt Lake Industrial Park located north-west of Red Deer city limits.

Blackfalds RCMP investigate plane crash

RCMP Alberta – On October 6, 2016 at approximately 2:30 p.m., Blackfalds RCMP were dispatched to a plane crash in Blackfalds. A lone pilot operating a biplane left Lacombe Airport and was experiencing what witnesses believed to be engine trouble. The plane then crashed in a field in the town of Blackfalds. The pilot was pronounced deceased at the scene. No one else was injured. Transport Canada will be attending the site and investigating further. The name of the deceased will not be released.

Blackfalds RCMP lay firearms charges

RCMP Alberta – Following an incident that occurred on August 12 where two males in a truck shot at a civilian following them, charges have been laid against those males.
