The Edmonton Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a 55-year-old male who was reported missing and may be disoriented and lost.
Donald MacDonald was reported missing to police at approximately 8:14 p.m. on Monday, June 9, 2014. MacDonald was last seen boarding the #16 ETS bus at 121 Street and 161 Avenue in the Dunluce area at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon. MacDonald was taking the bus to a doctor appointment at Northgate Centre Mall at 94 Street and 137 Avenue that he never arrived for.
Family members are concerned for MacDonald’s well-being because he suffers from a medical condition that makes him prone to becoming confused and disoriented. He also requires medication that he did not have on him when he went missing.

Police continue to actively search for the missing man at Edmonton Transit stations and on buses, as well as at shelters, hospitals, and in the community. Attempted abduction of teenager girl in Red Deer
Red Deer RCMP are looking for two male suspects in the attempted abduction of a 16 year old female on June 4 at approximately 5:00 pm. The female was walking on Glendale Boulevard when a black or dark grey Chevrolet Avalanche passed her then circled back to her location. Two males in the vehicle offered her a ride. When she refused, the passenger got out of the vehicle and attempted to force her toward the vehicle. She kicked him in the groin and ran; as she did so, the suspects drove away.

B&E and attempted sexual assault in Edmonton
The Edmonton Police Service is searching for a male suspect, following a brazen, early-morning break and enter and attempted sexual assault of a female in her southeast Edmonton home. Southeast Division patrol members responded to the complainant’s address near 20 Avenue and 49 Street at approximately 2 a.m. this morning, Tuesday, June 10. It was reported to police that an unknown male entered the residence, while the occupants of the home were sleeping. The complainant was awoken when a male suspect entered the master bedroom with his head and face concealed. The suspect then allegedly threatening to sexually assault the woman. The complainant successfully fought off her attacker and escaped the home along with her son and mother. The suspect was last seen fleeing the scene northbound on foot.
The suspect is described as being an average size male, who was wearing blue jeans, black boots and black gloves, at the time of the incident.

Serious MVC in Strathcona County
Yesterday at approximately 4:00 P.M. Strathcona County RCMP and Strathcona County Emergency Services responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on Hwy 15 and Range Road 211 in the north east area of Strathcona County.
A 1997 Ford F150 was traveling westbound on Hwy 15 when it was struck by a 2007 Sterling semi- tractor cement truck that was traveling north bound on Range Road 211.
The Ford was being driven by a 63 year old male from Two Hills County who sustained serious but non life threatening injuries and was transported via ground ambulance to a local hospital. A 61 year old female from Ardrossan was a passenger in the Ford and she was transported via STARS Air Ambulance to a local hospital, also with serious but non life threatening injuries.
The Sterling semi-truck was being driven by a 30 year old male from Fort Saskatchewan who was not injured in the collision.
It does not appear drugs, alcohol, speed or road conditions were factors in the collision.
Strathcona County RCMP Traffic Services and a RCMP Collision Analyst are still on scene investigating the collision and were expected to be on scene for several hours.
Bank robbery in Calgary
At approximately 12:30 p.m., today, Tuesday, June 10, 2014, an unknown culprit entered the Scotiabank located in the 4900 block of Richmond Road SW. The culprit approached a victim teller and produced a robbery note demanding money. He received an undisclosed amount of money before walking out of the bank and leaving the area. There were no injuries during the robbery.
The man is described as Caucasian, in his early 20’s, 5’9” tall, with a slim build, shaved dark hair and a goatee. He was wearing a black long-sleeved shirt with a design, blue jeans and sunglasses.

Man arrested for Dangerous Driving on Highway 2 near Crossfield
On Monday, June 9, 2014 at 10:00 PM, members of the Airdrie Integrated Traffic Unit (ITU) were dispatched to a call of a speeding motorcycle on Highway 2 near Carstairs. Responding officers located the motorcycle on southbound Highway 2 near Crossfield, allegedly traveling at 197 km/hr. The officers were able to conduct a traffic stop on the motorcycle, and the driver – a 21 year old male from Calgary was taken into custody.
As a result of this incident, charges of dangerous driving, driving without insurance, failing to produce an operator’s license, operating a vehicle of an unauthorized class, and improper use of a license plate are now pending against the male.
QEII Integrated Traffic officers would like to thank the 911 callers who reported this dangerous situation. All motorists are reminded that they can call 911 from a hands free phone to report any dangerous situations on the QEII and our officers will respond accordingly.
Apprehending speeding and aggressive drivers is one of the top priorities of Alberta’s Integrated Traffic Units.
Single vehicle rollover near High River
On Monday June 9, at approximately 3:30 pm High River RCMP attended a roll-over on highway 543, west of High River. An unloaded dumptruck and attached pup were traveling east bound when the vehicle entered the right hand ditch. The driver of the truck was unable to correct the vehicle's path and he struck an approach. The truck became airborne for a short distance, impacting just beyond they approach and rolling. The pup attachment broke free and crushed the cab of the truck, trapping the driver inside.
Members of both Black Diamond and High River Fire Department's worked to free the driver. The driver, a lone male, was airlifted by STARS Ambulance to Foothills Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the collision.
Parking lot robbery in Cochrane
On June 9th at approximately 9:30 am Cochrane RCMP responded to a call of a robbery that occurred in the parking lot of the Rexall Drugs in Cochrane. The complainant, who wished to remain anonymous and was less than cooperative with Police, provided a detailed description of his assailant, who allegedly threatened him with violence and after unsuccessfully getting the victims wallet, ran from the scene.
With the excellent description provided to Police, a person fitting the description of the assailant was located by RCMP members and arrested without incident. Upon arrest, the suspect was interviewed by Police and it was determined then that the call to Police was fictitious. The detained suspect admitted that he had called the Police and made up the story describing in detail the color and description of clothing he was wearing and a description of himself. He further admitted at no time had an act of Robbery had ever been committed and had called Police hoping the Police would give him a ride to Calgary.
Bradley Bouvier 18 yrs old of Calgary, has been charged with Public Mischief and 2 additional charges of Breaching his Recognizance. He is scheduled to appear at Cochrane Provincial Court to deal with the charges.
Pharmacy Break and Enters in Sedgewick and Daysland
During the very early morning hours of June 10, 2014, Killam/Forestburg RCMP were dispatched to a complaint at a pharmacy in Sedgewick, Alberta. RCMP attended and confirmed that a break and enter had occurred. The main plate glass door was smashed. The culprit(s) are believed to have entered the store for a period of time before leaving.
Shortly thereafter, Killam/Forestburg RCMP were dispatched to a complaint, this time at a pharmacy in Daysland, Alberta. RCMP attended and confirmed that a break and enter had occurred there as well. The interior and exterior plate glass doors were smashed. The culprit is believed to be male of a fairly slim build, wearing dark clothing, possibly driving a dark coloured pickup truck. RCMP are continuing to investigate these crimes.

Break and Enter in Vermilion
Fort Vermilion RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in solving a crime in which suspect(s) broke into the Old Bay House on River Road in Fort Vermilion. Sometime between May 17th and May 24th, 2014 suspect(s) forced open the door to the house, broke several windows and discharged a fire extinguisher. The damaged is estimated at approximately $1,000.00. The matter is still under investigation.

Mischief and Theft from vehicles in Banff
Banff RCMP are currently investigating a number of mischief and theft from vehicle complaints within the Glen Avenue area of Banff. On June 7th, 2014 beginning at approximately 8:16 a.m., RCMP began receiving complaints that vehicles were entered and in some cases articles left in the vehicles were stolen. Police believe the mischiefs and thefts occurred sometime on June 6th after 10:00 p.m. and into the early morning hours of June 7th.
RCMP continue to investigate.
RCMP would like to remind residents to be vigilant and lock up all valuable property. By leaving
valuables in vehicles, we encourage impulsive and opportunistic criminal activity.

- park in sensible places, avoiding unlit areas at night.
Health Care Cards, Vehicle Registration and Insurance are being taken from wallets and vehicles.
When documents are taken, the potential for Identity Theft increases.

Suspicious fire in Spruce Grove
RCMP in Spruce Grove, together with Spruce Grove Fire Services, responded to a suspicious fire in the alley behind Brookwood Drive around 8:15 pm on June 9th.
Homeowners in the area had set out furniture beside their rear alley garage, in preparation for "Large Item Pickup", which begins next week. Several couches, toys, books, and assorted household items had been out for several days, so were likely damp from recent rains. These items were burned, along with an adjacent fence and neighboring garage/lean-to shed.
On Wednesday, June 4th, the Spruce Grove/Stony Plain Drug Section executed a search warrant in a Spruce Grove residence. Police seized approximately 103 grams of cannabis resin (hash), 155 grams of cannabis marihuana, a small baggie of cocaine, and close to $2500.00 cash, and related drug paraphernalia.
51 year old Norman John HORNBROOK of Spruce Grove stands charged with:
- possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (Schedule II- cannabis marihuana)
- possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (Schedule II- cannabis resin)
- possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (Schedule I- cocaine)
- possession of proceeds of crime under $5000 (Canadian currency)
"Our Spruce Grove/Stony Plain Drug Unit continues to do great work in interdicting and prosecuting drug trafficking throughout the Parkland Region", states Inspector Gary Graham, Officer in Charge. "Together with the community we want to send a strong message to drug traffickers that Spruce Grove/Stony Plain and area is not open for drug activity", he goes on to say.
