Saint Michael's Junior B boys Dragons hosted Fort Macleod's F.P. Walshe Flyers for a game of basketball at the Dale Wentz Memorial Gymnasium on Tuesday evening, January 28.
You'd be hard pressed to find two more equally skilled teams, as was demonstrated during this low scoring high energy game. The Dragons outscored the Flyers by one point in the first quarter (9-8), both teams scored 5 points in the second, putting the Dragons ahead 14-13 at the half. The Dragons were apparently running out of steam in the third quarter, and it cost them dearly in momentum. The Flyers scored 7 points and the Dragons 3 in that quarter, all three Dragons points coming from Ethan Zoratti. The Flyers outscored the Dragons again in the final quarter, 10 points to 8, to win it 30-25.
Top scorer in the game was #23 Ethan Zoratti with 14 points, followed by Flyers #9 Zayne Fraser with 12 points and Flyers #8 Ben Craig with 9 points.
