"We've been cooking steady," said MD of Pincher Creek Councillor Garry Marchuk when we arrived at the pancake breakfast opener to the 2013 Lundbreck Cornfest on Saturday morning August 24. Marchuk was manning the grill at the time, flipping a batch of goodly-sized pancakes. Kimberly Hurst member of the Lundbreck Citizens Council concurred with his opinion. "The hall has been full steady all morning, it's been a great crowd," she said. "We have a lot of teams in this year's softball tourney."
Hurst explained that the event started as a competition between Cowley and Lundbreck, with the two communities taking turns hosting the tourney on alternate years. Eventually the event became the annual Lundbreck Cornfest.

Following the silver-donation pancake breakfast was a parade through downtown Lundbreck, the first parade here since the hamlet's 100th anniversary in 2007.

Dignitaries at the event included most of the Council for the MD of Pincher Creek, Town of Pincher Creek Councillor Lorne Jackson, Livingstone-Macleod MLA Pat Stier, RCMP members, and Pincher Creek Rodeo Queen Chelsea Stokke, who was accompanied by future Rodeo Princess hopeful Danielle Hann, who appeared to be well suited to her desired role.

Following the parade was a show and shine, the Cornfest and Pig Roast, and the softball tournament.
That was a good parade, I especially enjoyed the Pipe Band.
