Severe thunderstorm watch ended for Pincher Creek, Crowsnest Pass, and Waterton

Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Pincher Creek, Crowsnest Pass, and Waterton Lakes areas for Wednesday, July 17.

This is an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds late this afternoon.

A surface low pressure system is forecast to develop in Southern Alberta later this afternoon resulting in the development of thunderstorms. Some of these thunderstorms are expected to be severe. Thunderstorms will initially develop in the foothills and move east with time. The main severe weather threat will be large hail and strong winds. This watch area may be expanded further east later today.
