Power disruption possible in CNP

Municipality of Crowsnest Pass press release, issue at 7:30 pm, June 21, 2013

Due to electrical system transmission upgrades that began in early June, the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass is currently being fed electricity through a single AltaLink Infrastructure source coming out of British Columbia. The Municipality has just been advised by AltaLink that there is a possibility of a power disruption due to the impact of weather conditions.

Residents should take all the necessary precautions in the event that a loss of power occurs and should be prepared with an emergency kit that includes a cell phone, non-perishable food items, radio, flashlights, water and candles for the possibility that they may be without power for up to 24 hours.

All efforts are being made to maintain service with conditions and infrastructure being monitored on an ongoing basis.
