Pincher Creek Community Emergency Management Agency (PCCEMA) news release regarding the MD of Pincher Creek, Town of Pincher Creek, Village of Cowley and including adjacent forestry.

Issued at 1:00 pm, June 23, 2013

The stream flows in the rivers and streams in our area are falling. A Flood Warning remains in effect on the Oldman River downstream from the dam. The Oldman River upstream has been downgraded to High Stream Flow Advisory. The warnings for the Pincher Creek have ended.

A High Stream Flow Advisory remains in effect for all other streams in our area. The public warning to avoid the back-country due to road closures, the large number of existing hazards and the limited ability to affect reuses continues.

The Emergency Coordination Center has lowered their level of activation to Class 2: monitoring and communications.

Future Activities: If a Disaster Relief Program is announced by the province of Alberta it will be coordinated at the respective municipal level.

Impacted members of the public are advised to take pictures, keep all receipts, contact their insurance company and inform the MD of Pincher Creek, Town of Pincher Creek or Village of Cowley municipal office as appropriate during normal business hours.
