A salute to the 9 "retiring" members of Pincher Creek's Midget Huskies (above). Thank you for years of great hockey, a great 2012/13 season and best wishes for the future.
The Graduating Huskies were publicly celebrated just prior to their final home-game. Members of the Atom Chinooks were dressed in the away gear of each retiring Husky and escorted them as they were awarded souvenir jerseys by Pincher Creek Minor Hockey (PCMH) Vice President Todd Vance which were donated by Pincher Creek Minor Hockey and Crowsnest Pass Minor Hockey. Brett Tarcon, Ryan Sciarra, and Ryan Marshall all hail from the Crowsnest Pass.
General Manager Ken Doell had this to say of his graduating team members:
We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge nine young men tonight who will be playing their last home game as a Pincher Creek Husky. We would like to recognize and thank them for their years of participation within the Pincher Creek Minor Hockey Association.
It has been an honour to watch you boys play hockey and to have witnessed you all grow into fine young men. Over the years you have worn your hockey jerseys with pride and passion for the love of the game. You have shown us that you know how to win honorably, lose gracefully, respect authority, and work as a team. These qualities you will have for the rest of your lives. Your community is proud of you for all your contributions and involvement to this sport. Your integrity, dedication, commitment and sportsmanship are a true legacy to your numbers. Numbers that young kids like these Atoms can't wait to wear one day, they can't wait until they get to be a HUSKY.
A huge thank you goes out to all the parents for your endless support towards you child's involvement in minor hockey.
Pincher Creek Minor Hockey would like to express their gratitude to you gentlemen for your years of participation and wish you all continued success in your future endeavors.
~ GM Ken Doell
Wonderful speech Ken. Had tears in my eyes and my kid wasn't even "retiring".
