The Bow Island Rebels were in town on Saturday, February 16, facing off against the Pincher Creek Novice Chinooks at the MCC Arena in what turned out to be an excitingly close match-up. It was apparent from early in the first period how evenly matched the two teams were. The first period was very high energy, with the game taking place on both sides of the ice. Chinooks #20 Rhett Fitzpatrick scored the first goal of the game at the 3:41 mark, assisted by #6 Riley Potts and #18 Shenoa Jessen.

The second period continued this trend. Five minutes in into the period #17 Koltyn Kipling reminded us why he is in net, making an excellent save. The Chinooks' defence is strong; however, #28 Cory Dyck took a two minute penalty for hooking during this period, leaving a hole in their defensive strategy that Rebels #5 Brinley Degenstein pushed to exploit, earning the Rebels first goal with 9:51 left in the second. The Rebels got more aggressive, but Kipling managed to stop them for the rest of the period, with both teams tied at 1 – 1 as the second ended.

This really was a great game for Kipling, who was making those saves. #6 Riley Potts scored an unassisted goal six minutes in, bringing the Chinooks back into the lead. However, at 2:40 Degenstein snuck one past Kipling with assistance from #2 Bodee Weiss. The game ended shortly after in a 2 - 2 draw.

Novice Chinooks vs Vauxhall
The Novice Chinooks were back at it on Sunday, February 17, this time hosting the Vauxhall Sabres for the final game of the regular season. The Chinooks were playing offensively and keeping the game on their terms. In the first period they scored six goals. Two were made by #6 Riley Potts, one by #21 Kieran Randall, two by #28 Cory Dyck, and one more by #20 Rhett Fitzpatrick.

The Chinooks were on a roll this game, scoring another 6 goals in the second. Cory Dyck earned a hat trick with the first goal of the period, #4 Drew Stuckley scored two goals, #16 Colton Kirkman scored two goals and Riley Potts earned his own hat trick with another goal.

Chinooks goalie #17 Koltyn Kipling sure looked bored going into the third period. The Sabres were rarely making it to his side of the ice, and his team's solid defensive playing left him with little to do. The Chinooks scored another four goals this period, two for Cory Dyck, and one more each for Kieran Randall and Rhett Fitzpatrick. The Chinooks won the game 16 – 0.

Next up for the Chinooks is playoffs.
