Kraft Hockeyville bid helps Junction Food Bank in Pincher Creek

Pincher Creek's Kraft Hockeyville bid was a benefit for The Junction Food Bank, which is run by McMan Agency.  Alberta Treasury Branch, Pincher Creek Co-op Grocery Store, and the Town of Pincher Creek administration office  had donation bins set up and there were collections boxes at the MCC Arena during hockey games.  The food collected at these locations was gathered by Town Councillor Wayne Elliott and Co-op Produce Manager Jennifer Draper, who delivered it to the food bank today, Wednesday, March 11, Hockey Jersey Day in Pincher Creek.

"This is really, really appreciated," said Director Anne Gover. Food banks traditionally get a lot of support around Christmas, and struggle during the rest of the of the year to meet the demand.  Pincher Creek Food Bank Coordinator Susan Kuftinoff said that there is a regular need for tuna, soups, pasta and pasta sauce, and Kraft Dinner. That citizens used this as an opportunity to help the Junction raise awareness and help those that are in need showed great community spirit.  The food bank accepts donations of new, unopened non-perishable food to distribute to those that are in need.
