Principal Sandra McDuffe addresses her students
Principal Sandra McDuffe said that she was excited by what the students got out of the recent week-long Experiential Learning Week. Several students came to the front of the assembly to talk about the classes they took, what it was that they personally got out of the week, and what it was like for them to be involved in a week-long immersive learning situation.

Emma Fitzgerald presented her poem 'Curvy' that focused on body image, that she had worked on during her experiential learning week class in creative writing.

Chug challenge
Activities included team trolley drag racing. One student was on a trolley and held a crazy carpet while their teammate pulled them around the perimeter of the gym. Four selected students were challenged to drink a blended breakfast drink. The drink consisted of breakfast sandwiches, hash browns, and orange juice. The students chugged this vile concoction down to the cheers of their classmates.

Go,Go, Go!
There was an anti bullying presentation. Matthew Halton School has recently signed on to the www.stopabully.ca program that allows anonymous bully reporting. The student can send a message or video to the site, and the site reports it to the principal of the affected school. Pink support bracelets and information cards were available to the students. Principal Sandra McDuffe said "This is one more tool in our arsenal against bullying."  A sign at the entrance to the school reminds students that bullying is not tolerated at Matthew Halton.
