3 dead after Rocky Mountain House MVC

Rocky Mountain House RCMP is currently investigating a triple fatal motor vehicle collision which occurred at approx. 7:15 am on Tuesday November 11, 2014.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a west bound pickup carrying two occupants lost control of the vehicle and crossed the path of an east bound pickup carrying 3 occupants. The occupants of the west bound pickup were pronounced dead at the scene along with the driver of the east bound pickup. Two passengers from the east bound pickup were taken to hospital with minor injuries. At the time of the collision highways were very icy due to the recent snow fall, cold temperatures and wind gusts over the past few days. Alcohol and speed do not appear to be a factor in the event.

The names and ages of the deceases have not yet been released pending Next of Kin notifications.

Attending agencies included Rocky Mountain House RCMP, Sylvan Lake RCMP, Red Deer City RCMP Collision Analyst, Clearwater County Highway Patrol, Rocky Mountain House EMS and Fire Depts from Rocky Mountain House, Leslieville, Eckville and Condor along with Alberta Highways.
