Midget Huskies add to undefeated streak
The Midget Huskies were at their home rink in Coleman on Saturday afternoon, November 8, hosting Picture Butte's Blades. The Huskies won by a significant margin. That makes four games straight for the Huskies, undefeated, with only one team left to face for the first time this season in the Spud League: Warner. They are scheduled to face Warner next, in a home game at the MCC arena in Pincher Creek this coming Friday, November 14, starting at 8 pm. Warner's won 1 of 3 starts so far this season. Bow Island, who the Huskies defeated 7-3 on October 17 for their opener, may prove to be the most difficult challenge for the Huskies this season. They will meet again in the Bow Island barn on November 22.
Atom Chinooks defeat Vauxhall 6-2
The Atom Chinooks travelled to Vauxhall for a seeding game on November 8, where they defeated the Sabres 6-2. The Atom Chinooks have three wins and one loss so far this season. They're schedule to host the Crowsnest Pass Thuinder for the first time this season next Saturday November 15 at the MCC arena, starting at noon, to be followed by an away game against Picture Butte the next day. The Thunder have won 2 of 4 games played this season. Picture Butte is looking like a very strong team this season, winning their first two games by wide margins. The other Atom team to beat this season appears to be Bow Island, who have also been romping to "significant margin" victories.

Pincher Creek's Peewee Chinooks hosted Magrath's Chiefs at the MCC arena for a seeding game on November 8. The Chiefs were up 1-0 at the end of the first period, but it was a poor showing in the second period that really hurt the Chinooks. Magrath scored another three unanswered goals, bringing them to 4-0 at the end of the second. A goal by Chinook Tristan Blood at the 15:37 mark in the third put the Chinooks on the scoreboard. He was assisted by Nelz Vance. That goal was answered with two more from the Chiefs, and rock solid goaltending from the Magrath goalie shut down a multitude of efforts from the Chinooks forwards. 6-1 Magrath at the final buzzer.
Lots of penalties in this game, particularly in the second and third for Magrath, and in the third for the Chinooks.
The Chinooks have won 4 out of 5 seeding games so far, their only loss coming at the hands of Picture Butte. The Chinooks are scheduled to travel to Taber for one more seeding game on November 16.
