During the regular meeting of Pincher Creek Town Council on October 14, 2014 the council unanimously voted to cover costs of repair and replacement to floor covering at Children's World Daycare up the the value of $10,000. Cost estimates for the project range from $6700 to $8200 for the two floor covering options being considered.

Children's World Daycare Director Marie Meckelborg appeared before Town Council September 29, 2014 where she reported that the Public Health Inspector would not approve the flooring in certain areas of the daycare after January 2015. Ms. Meckelborg was also in attendance at the October 1, 2014 Committee of the Whole meeting, where the issue was discussed by the committee.

Deficiencies noted in the September 9, 2014 Health Services Inspection "were noted with the floor tiles in the three rooms of the Daycare located in the West wing of the Town Office building," according to Council documents.

Children's World Daycare, a registered Non-Profit Charitable Society, has been located in the same building as the Town Hall since 1981. According to council documents "The Society has also been involved in making various improvements to the outdoor playground area by replacing and upgrading the equipment and landscaping."

This is the second time in just over a year Council has assisted the Society with mandated renovations. According to council documents, "In January of 2014 Council agreed to pay the full cost to rectify deficiencies noted in a Health Services Inspection Report dated November 14, 2013 for a total renovation project cost of $13,600. The project included kitchen renovations and upgrades and painting in all three rooms occupied by the Daycare."
