MD to poll people using dumpster site in Pincher Creek

The MD will be polling people at the MD garbage dumpster site (located on Hwy 785 at the MD's property in Pincher Creek) this weekend and again sporadically in the future.  We are looking to provide information on the intended use of the facility to users as well as collect information from them on their use, habits and any additional comments they may have on the topic.  The site receives significant amounts of refuse including recyclable material and debris that it was not intended to accommodate.


The feedback we receive is intended to provide Council with information to move forward with.  I have attached a copy of our first public notice that we will be distributing to users of the facility on Saturday and Monday this weekend.  Future polls and public notices will be used to gather additional possibly more specific information as we move forward with continuing to provide this service to our landowners.


Public Notice:

This Disposal Facility is  ONLY  for the People owning/renting property within the Municipal District of Pincher Creek.

The PURPOSE of this facility is for the disposal of only bagged household waste.

Please do not at this location any of the following:

• Recyclables ( i.e. Cardboard, Newspaper, Cans, Plastics)
• Furniture, Appliances, Electronics
• Lawn Mowers, BBQs, Bikes
• Batteries
• Scrap Iron, Wood, Demolition Material
• Paint Cans, Oil
• Grass Clippings, Leaves, Tree Branches

Items other than bagged household waste can be disposed of at the Crowsnest /Pincher Creek Landfill (accessed off of Highway 3, west of Cowley).  This service is provided free of charge for MD property owners.

Recycling materials can be taken either to the Crowsnest/Pincher Creek Landfill or 1038 Deer Avenue (bottle return depot), Town of Pincher Creek.
