According to council minutes, a special meeting of the Council of the Municipal District of Pincher Creek No. 9 was held on Thursday, September 11. In attendance were Reeve Brian Hammond, Councillors Terry Yagos, Garry Marchuk and Fred Schoening, and Chief Administrative Officer Wendy Kay.
Council carried a motion by Councillor Terry Yagos to support Alberta Ministry of Transportation negotiations to move forward with paving of Highway 774 and that the MD undertake the required supervision of the project, if required.
Highway 774 runs south from Beaver Mines to Castle Mountain Resort. It is paved for much of its length, but approximately 12 kilometres at the resort end of the highway remains unpaved, despite being the subject of much discussion for several years.
