Season opener: Pincher Creek Senior Mustangs blank Highwood

Pincher Creek's Senior Mustangs travelled to High River to tackle the Highwood Mustangs on Saturday, September 6. The score was 0/0 at the end of the first quarter, 2-0 for Pincher Creek at the half, 8-0 at the end of the third, and 15-0 for the Pincher Creek team at the end of the game, a definitive win to start their season.

Joey Jackson got an amazing turnover and was so excited he danced all the way back to the bench. Montana Jones was a solid player throughout, as was Austin Parker, and Levi Root. The Rivière brothers were back in action and fun to watch. This was Brenden Lissel's first game as a Senior, and at first he was nervous, but once he got into it he did great.  The Lissel boys both made a beautiful team tackle which was awesome to watch, especially with their high-5 afterward! Davey Shortreed was fantastic with his patented spin move, but got hurt early on. I can't wait to see him in action again.

The defensive game today was stellar. The smiles on the boys' faces were priceless.

The Bantam Mustangs unfortunately had to forfeit their Saturday away game vs the Lethbridge Rams after injuries depleted their roster.
