Railway track fire near Burmis quickly doused

Pincher Creek Emergency Services Chief Dave Cox said a crew was called out to a fire on the railway tracks where Highway 507 crosses the tracks near Burmis south of the Highway 3 Burmis weigh scale on Wednesday, September 24 at approximately 3:30 pm. There was a grinding and track maintenance crew working on the railway lines where the fire originated and Canadian Pacific Railway employees had already attended to the incident before fire crews  arrived.
