Lethbridge area man dies in Beaver Mines Lake quad accident

A 33 year old Lethbridge area man is dead following a quad rollover that occurred on Saturday morning, August 30 at Beaver Mines Lake Provincial Campground.

According to Sgt Dixon of the Pincher Creek RCMP detachment the accident occurred between 2:00 am and 8:00 am.

According to  Pincher Creek Emergency Services (PCES) Chief  Dave Cox, Beaver Mines Fire and PCES responded to the scene at approximately 7:55 am.  STARS was dispatched at 8:25 am. Pincher Creek Rescue also responded and established a landing site for STARS at the Beaver Mines Lake Highway 774/Highway 507 junction.  The man was then transported to Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary by STARS with serious injuries.

According to Sgt. Dixon "The 33 year old male died of his injuries early on Tuesday, September 2 at approximately 1:30 am."  Alcohol may have been a factor and "He was not wearing a helmet."

The name of the deceased is not being released at this time.
