On September 5 at approximately 11:00 pm, Red Deer RCMP responded to a report of an armed robbery at the downtown 7-Eleven at 4702 50 Street in Red Deer. Two men entered the business with their faces covered, and one brandished a knife and threatened staff. The suspects fled east down the alley across from 7 Eleven with several packages of cigarettes. No staff were injured during this robbery.

Airdrie RCMP has made two arrests after a rash of vehicle thefts, break and enters and other property offences.
Justin Gordon DENISON, 25 of Calgary and Denim Rae KERMEEN, 22 of Airdrie were arrested on September 4th, 2014 by Airdrie City and Rural RCMP officers after responding to a vehicle theft in progress.
On the early morning of August 26th, 2014, Airdrie RCMP responded to multiple vehicle thefts and break and enters. Through detailed investigations which involved Airdrie City & Rural RCMP and Airdrie Crime Reduction Unit, DENISON and KERMEEN were identified as suspects, and charged with this and several other incidents of a similar nature.
Together DENISON and KERMEEN face 24 criminal charges consisting of multiple Break and Enter, Mischief, Theft of Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000.00, Possession of Stolen Property Over $5,000.00 and Obliterating a Vehicle Identification Number charges.
This investigation continues as DENISON and KERMEEN are believed to have been responsible for other similar type offences in multiple jurisdictions. Further charges are expected to be laid.
DENISON and KERMEEN were remanded into custody pending a bail hearing set for September 8th, 2014.
Between the late hours of August 22nd, 2014 and the early morning hours of August 23rd, 2014, unknown individual(s) slashed tires on numerous vehicles through out St. Albert, Alberta. St. Albert RCMP received five reports on Flagstone Crescent, three reports on Ridgewood Terrace and one report on Langholm Drive. All incidents appeared to be similar in nature thus RCMP believe they may be all related.

On September 2, 2014 Banff RCMP received a report of a missing person, Ralph Greenaway 40 years old. Greenaway told friends he was going to the Mount Rundle area for the day. Friends describe Greenaway as an avid outdoors person.
RCMP and Parks Canada initiated a ground and air search, with the assistance of volunteer search and rescue personnel. Greenaway's vehicle was located near Mount Rundle, however he has not been located despite ongoing search efforts.
Search efforts continue, but have been hampered by the recent poor weather.

On August 29 at approximately 9:20 pm, Red Deer RCMP responded to a report of an armed robbery at Buster’s Pizza, located at 60 Donlevy Avenue in the Deer Park neighbourhood in Red Deer. A lone man entered the business, brandished a knife and demanded money from the staff. The suspect left through the front door with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police Dog Services immediately attended to assist RCMP members in searching the area but the suspect has not yet been located. No staff were injured during the robbery.

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance to identify two men who robbed a convenience store at gunpoint, injuring an employee and a customer in the process.
At approximately 3:45 a.m., today, Monday, Sept. 8, 2014, two men entered a convenience store located in the 7200 block of Ogden Road S.E. One of the men, armed with a firearm, assaulted a customer and a store employee. The culprits obtained an undisclosed quantity of money and merchandise before fleeing from the store.
Both the clerk and customer were treated by EMS for minor injuries and released.

Multiple commercial B&Es in Calgary
The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in a series of commercial break and enters dating back to 2010.
Since 2010, it is believed that there have been more than 50 occurrences of commercial property break and enter and thefts across the city that have similar descriptions in how access is gained, and the description of an alleged culprit(s).
Investigators believe the culprit(s) targets strip malls or locations with multiple businesses in attached buildings. Access is typically gained by prying a rear door and once inside access is gained to the attached businesses by breaking through the drywall. Typically the offences have occurred in the evening or overnight hours. Investigators are working to determine if the same culprit(s) are responsible for all of the reported incidents.

An alleged suspect has been described as Caucasian, approximately 5’11” tall, 200 lbs., with short blond thinning hair that is balding in the back, and clean shaven.

Kananaskis RCMP
On the morning of September 7, 2014, Kananaskis RCMP were alerted to an overdue hunter who was due back, on September 6, 2014 after a day of hunting. RCMP investigators, Conservation Officers, and Kananaskis Public Safety specialists attended the last known area the hunter was believed to be. Both a ground and air search commenced. Evidence was located suggesting that the hunter had been injured at a location approximately 4 km east from the PickleJar day use area parking lot on Hwy 40. Search teams also encountered a female grizzly bear and cub in the immediate area. The hunter was not located and the search resumed the following morning.
On September 8th, search teams located the hunter's remains in the area near where the evidence was located the day before. The hunter had suffered obvious trauma consistent with a bear attack and is believed to have died from those injuries. The hunter was alone at the time of the incident. The investigation is ongoing with assistance of local conservation officers.
The name of the deceased is not being released at this time.

The Turner Valley RCMP are requesting the assistance with a concerning incident that occurred in the area.
Sometime overnight on Saturday, September 6th, unknown persons placed a deceased and mutilated cat into the backyard of a residence in the Town of Turner Valley. No witnesses to the event are known at this time and police continue to examine the evidence at hand.
Although an isolated incident at this time, the context is concerning to police and the community as a whole.

Fort Vermilion RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in solving a crime in which a blow-up gorilla Mmascot went missing from Northstar Chrysler in La Crete. Sometime overnight of August 28th, 2014 to the morning of August 29th, 2014 the blow up Gorilla was stolen. It is valued at approximately $2700. A possible suspect has been identified and RCMP are following up on this, and are asking for anyone with any further information to come forward.
