  • Robyn Lively wins Altie Rutledge Award for local High Points for the second year in a row.

All of the Pincher Creek area participants who attended the Pincher Creek High School Rodeo on September 13 and 14 were in the running for the annual Altie Rutledge Memorial Trophy. This award is presented to the local High Point contestant. Altie Rutledge was a dedicated rodeo volunteer who passed away in 1989.  Rutledge is remembered through this trophy that salutes the efforts of local young rodeo contestants. The award was presented by the great-niece of Altie, Raelyn Rutledge, to Pincher Creek's Robyn Lively, who has won it for the second year in a row.

Lively is a grade 11 student at Matthew Halton High School and was very happy to get her name on the trophy once again, and plans on vying for the trophy again next year, which will be her last year in rodeo."I won the poles and barrels yesterday, and I won both rounds of the cutting today," she explained about her High Point victory. Lively said she really enjoys High School Rodeo. "It's really fun, and a good thing to get into. You meet friends, and the people are really good here."
