On August 1-3 crowds flocked to Heritage Acres Farm Museum for their 27th annual show. The theme this year was "Early Transport"; horses, wagons, cars, and tractors were all featured over the three days. A few of the events included were agricultural demonstrations, the Parade of Power, a tractor pull, and a traditional country dance.

There was a very pleasant feeling in the air. Young and old marveled at the old machinery, cars and tractors that had been restored back to working order. Onlookers wandered from the main field full of tractors, to an adjoining property where old-fashioned harvesting, baling and threshing took place, to a strip of structures with fresh vegetables, wares, and concession.

"(It's an) opportunity to keep the heritage of the West alive," stated Bob Westrop, the announcer on Saturday. "It's great to see these old machines still in working condition." One interesting aspect of the show was that, backdropping the age on display, was the new, as the recent windmills in the area surround the museum grounds: "Here we've got everything from the new technology in windmills to the old technology in hay," Westrop continued.

Also open were the regular sites of Heritage Acres, like The Crystal Village, the horse barn, the General Store and the Heritage Station.
