On Sunday, August 3, at approximately 9:30 am Beaver Mines Fire Department responded to a fire in the forestry area roughly 1 km south of Castle Mountain Resort. Beaver Mines responded with Engine 31 and worked with ESRD to contain the fire to 0.25 acre area. The cause of the fire is currently undetermined.
On Monday, August 4, at approximately 7:30 pm Beaver Mines Engine 31 responded to a call south of the Gladstone Valley, south of Mill Creek on the Shell Road, because of a report of lightening hitting a power pole. The pole was hit, but no fire was ignited.
