On Saturday, July 19, at 10:34 am Piikani Volunteer Fire Department and Piikani RCMP responded to a house fire at 1710 Highway 3 service road in Brocket, Alberta. According to Piikani Deputy Fire Chief Randall Wolf Tail the interior of the house was on fire, with super-heated temperatures that had plastic melting above the smoke line.
The Fire Department responded with 2 pumpers, 1 brush buggy and 1 tanker, and were on site for 4.5 hours. The residents of the house were not at home at the time of the incident, and there were no reported injuries. Damage to the house is currently estimated to be approximately $50,000 and the RCMP is currently investigating the incident.
