strong, unfailing
centered
Even buffeted by wind
weathered by sun
crashed upon by waves
It stands, immovable

My father is
strong, unfailing

Buffeted by troubles
weathered by years
crashed upon by loss

Yet, he stands
to show me what to strive for
how to protect
give, care

Build your house on stone
it is a firm anchor

My father is
a rock
