Reader blasts Harper and Abbott

Phil Burpee, Letter to the Editor

We must be thankful for the visit of Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott , a man appearing uncannily like some weasely little ankle-biter dingo from down under with a political agenda to match, for offering our PM, Stephen Harper, the opportunity to finally and succinctly clarify his entire legislative outlook – viz. -
“Let me be frank. I really don't give a piece of grimy fudge for any policy that might seek to enhance the chances for future generations to live in anything like peace, security and safety on this planet if it in any way might impinge upon the ability to build another thousand Walmarts to be staffed by teeming armies of hard-working folk for whom any chance of fulfilling the Great Canadian Dream is even now being squashed by the accelerating amassment of wealth amongst the bloated and self-serving super-rich 1% as a result of fiscal policy which tilts every conceivable advantage towards vast trans-global corporate interests for whom social and environmental responsibility is just some dirty office-party joke.”

Or at least that's pretty much how I heard it – but the sound on my TV is a little iffy. And all the CO2 around these days makes me a bit forgetful...............what was I saying?
