23 St. Michael's School Students from grades 6-9 participated in World Vision's 24 Hour Famine under the supervision of teacher Diana Smith, starting at 8:00 am on Friday May 2. The annual event raises awareness of hunger issues in the world and is also a fundraiser. This year the students raised almost $2500, which will be donated to Pincher Creek's Food Bank. The students stayed overnight at the school, boys in one room and girls in another. They finished their 24 hour famine with a full meal the next morning.
