^It's turning out to be a great season for Pincher Creek's Slow Pitch League. There are 12 teams this year. "That's the most we've had in the 4 years since we started up," according to organizer Jeff Kaupp, who plays for the Ice Cold Pitchers. "We have a new team that's the Castle Mountain employees, another one from the Doell family, and one from the Sorge's (The Pirates)." Another team is made up of local graduands. "We don't assign the names, people make them up themselves," Kaupp said of the somewhat risque choices made by some of the teams. The Doell team is currently leading the league. Six teams play on Tuesdays, the other six on Thursdays. The season ending tournament, scheduled for the second weekend of August, will divide the teams into two tiers.
Some of the teams are: Red Chair Bears, Balls of Anarchy, Wagon Burners, I'd Hit That, Raven Lunatics, Pitchslaps, Ice Cold Pitchers, Pirates.

The Pincher Creek Slow Pitch Group has a Facebook page, click here to visit it.
