Only two weeks left to register for the Southern Alberta Summer Games

This year marks the 45th anniversary of the Southern Alberta Summer Games – a major grass roots sporting competition which started in Picher Creek in 1970. The Town and M.D. of Pincher Creek are honoured to welcome the Games and athletes back home to where it all began on July 2 to July 5, 2014.

With only 2 weeks left to register for this year’s Games, interested athletes should act fast. Athletes can participate in 23 sports and cultural events including: 5/10K Run, 5 Pin Bowling, Archery, Athletics (Track & Field), Badminton, Ball Hockey, Baseball, Basketball (3 on 3), Beach Volleyball, Cribbage, Crossfit, Cycling, Equestrian, Golf, Handgun, Photography, Rugby, Small Bore, Soccer and Mini Soccer, Swimming, Tennis and Trapshooting. All ages and abilities can register in up to 3 different sports with their registration fee and have until the first week of June to register, depending on the region. Regional Director contact information and registration forms can be found on the website: www.southernalbertasummergames.com.

Each year 13 regions in Southern Alberta are involved in a healthy competition to register the most athletes, and of course win the most medals. As the host community, the M.D. of Pincher Creek is looking forward to giving the other regions a challenge. Show off your community talent and spirit by registering for your local team!
