| Games on for Lethbridge |
Chris Davis/Toni Lucas
"Why do I think we might attract more than 500 athletes? Because Pincher Creek is an awesome place to be in the summer! Already I have registered many participants who have told me they are looking forward to camping and spending the week in the area in addition to all of the SASG activities."
Typically the City of Lethbridge is represented by 300+ athletes at the SASG.
Goodman says that he has been contacting possible participants, coaches, and volunteers by telephone, email, and social media as well as reaching out through more traditional media of radio, television and print. "I have done my best to tell everybody I can. In the last 10 days I have sent close to 800 emails. It's the shotgun approach."
Goodman is also thinking about being one of the competitors during the games. "I am very interested in the archery," he said. He would like to see some of the other regional directors compete as well. "I think it will be good to have our teams see us do more than just from the sidelines."

"I am a program Leader with the City of Lethbridge," said Goodman. I have great respect for Kristen (George) the games coordinator that is pulling everything together."
An estimated 3000 athletes will converge on the town of Pincher Creek, from areas throughout Southern Alberta representing thirteen regions from Medicine Hat to the Crowsnest Pass. In addition to the athletic events there will be a variety of other activities for participants and the public to enjoy, from the Opening Ceremonies on the evening of July 2 to the Medal Ceremonies on July 5.
