John Barlow has been named the Conservative Party of Canada's nominee for the Macleod riding after nomination elections were held in Claresholm, Pincher Creek, and Okotoks March 6 to March 8.

The following statement was issued on the 'John Barlow for Macleod' Facebook page earlier this morning: "We did it!!! What an incredible night for Team Barlow! So proud of my my family and my team. Thanks to Phil Rowland, Melissa Mathieson and Scotty McCreery Wagner and your campaign teams. We will come together to build and incredible team for Macleod. Thanks to my campaign team — I could not be more proud!"

Yeah, well - as is said, prop up a blue fence-post with hair on top in this riding and you've got your MP. In Macleod we have representation by acclamation, so the flavour du jour of whoever is currently designated matters rather little. Tory is as Tory does. Mr. Menzies has been put out to predictably lucrative pasture - more of the same till the cows come home. Moo.
