Cosmetology is one of the classes being held during the spring session of Matthew Halton High School's Experiential Learning Week, which is underway this week.

The cosmetology  students got to take field trips to see hair and aesthetics salons, the cosmetology program at Willow Creek Composite High School in Claresholm, and beauty schools in Lethbridge.


"We got to see what their courses are all about, and now we're back here for some hands-on," said teacher Renee Van Loon. The students are learning all aspects of cosmetology, including hair, makeup, skin care, and nails.  The students will also learn about business practices during their time in the course.

The students practiced face painting on each other on Wednesday afternoon March 26. They even gave fellow student John Walker a temporary theatrical black eye, seen above.
