According to a letter sent to councils of the Town of Pincher Creek and MD of Pincher Creek, the Pincher Creek and District Municipal Library Board is taking steps to change their bylaws in regards to lowering fines on late fees. Specifically, the changes are to affect children and young adult books and DVDs. Children's books will be charged $0.10 per day, and children's DVDs will be charged $0.50 per day late fees. Juvenile or young adult books will be charged $0.15 per day, and juvenile or young adult DVDs will be charged $1.00 per day late fees.

At this point in time, the fines have not changed. The Library is waiting for one of the funding councils to receive the information. Changes will go into effect once approval has been received.
