Phil Rowland  introduced himself to Pincher Creek Town Council during their regular meeting held on February 10, 2014.

Rowland is seeking the Conservative nomination for the federal riding of Macleod, a seat vacated last year by Ted Menzies.
"Obviously, I'm trying to become your MP," said Rowland. "I'm trying to be introduced to all the municipalities. We haven't hit them all, but now we're hitting one of the most important ones."

Indicating the agenda for the evening he said "I can cover (item) 8.6, Highway 3. It's really, really slippery."

"My whole wanting to be your MP is because I really have a heart for this whole area," he said, before telling council some of his biography, which included a lot of time spent in this area.  Having had the same phone number of over 50 years, he made a joke about his stability. "I stayed home so long, my parents moved out." He talked about being a mail carrier, working in agriculture and in the oil and gas industry, and being a business owner of the Okotoks Flight Center.

He spoke with the council about Highway 3 concerns, and asked for feedback about it becoming a twinned highway.
