Pincher Creek residents continue to outdo themselves when it comes to the Trees of Hope. Christmas 2013 saw a new high of $20,195 raised, surpassing the previous record of $18,705 set in 2012. After 23 years, the community is still strongly behind the campaign, which helps enhance services at Pincher Creek Health Centre through Windy Slopes Health Foundation.


“We’re delighted and grateful,” said Foundation Chair Donna Schauerte, “especially since funds this year are supporting such an important project.” The Foundation aims to provide enhancements and renovation of the Emergency Department at Pincher Creek Health Centre.

“The project being developed will make the work area even more secure and efficient, while providing greater privacy for patients and their families,” said Site Manager Jordan Koch. “That’s vital in stressful situations, which we deal with every day in our local Emergency Department.”

The Foundation is more than halfway to their $450,000 goal for this project, which will continue to be the main focus of fundraising in 2014. “We’ll keep updating the public as we make progress on the Emergency project,” Schauerte said.
