Multiple fatality Motor Vehicle Collision near Olds
At approx 1745hrs on January 6, 2014, RCMP - Olds Detachment, Olds Fire Department and Alberta Health Services EMS were dispatched to Highway 27 East of Olds, to a two vehicle head-on motor vehicle collision. The lone occupant and driver of an Acura SUV was found deceased on scene. The other vehicle, a Ford Freestar, had 6 occupants. The driver and a rear passenger were deceased at the scene. Three passengers are in critical condition, two of which were airlifted by STARS. The others were taken by ground ambulance to area hospitals. The occupants of the Freestar are residents of Central Alberta while the driver of the Acura is an Olds resident. Police will not be releasing names of those involved.
Initial indications are that the Acura was West bound on Highway 27, a rural undivided two lane highway. The Freestar was East bound when, near Range Road 12, the two vehicles collided. This is a straight, flat area of the highway with visibility for considerable distance. Early indications suggest the Freestar encroached into the westbound lane. After the collision the Acura remained in the West bound lane of travel facing north. The Freestar came to rest in the South ditch facing West.
Weather was not a factor as conditions at the time were favorable for traveling affording clear visibility. Road surface conditions may have been a factor however not the sole cause of the collision. Alcohol is not believed to be involved at this time. An RCMP Collision Reconstructionist from Red Deer attended the scene to assist in the investigation. The investigation is ongoing and updates will be released as the situation merits.

| Wanted: Kenneth Barry Wallage |
On January 3, 2014 Kenneth WALLAGE is believed to have stolen a 2004 Black Dodge 1500 truck bearing licence plate RUJ-371(AB). The truck is a four door, four wheel drive half ton. It has a black grill and is missing the driver's side mirror. It has chrome strips along the bottom of the body.
Kenneth WALLAGE is now charged with two counts of attempted murder. A warrant of arrest has been issued in the first instance and has been extended Canada wide. He should be considered armed and dangerous. He is confirmed to have been in possession of a 12 gauge pump action shot gun. The public is advised not to approach this male or truck but to call the local Police Department.
The matter remains under investigation, and anyone with any information on this or any other crime is asked to call the Milk River RCMP at 403-647-2427 or crime stoppers.
The attached photos are of the wanted male Kenneth WALLAGE and of the a truck that looks like the stolen truck and not actually the stolen one.
On Monday evening January 6, 2014 two RCMP officers sustained injuries in the execution of their duties on a rural property near Vegreville. One member was shot and wounded by a suspect. He has been treated for his injuries and is reported to be in stable condition. Another member sustained more serious injuries after he was reportedly run over by a vehicle. He is now being treated in hospital in Edmonton. The RCMP will not be releasing the names of the officers involved at this time.
All three suspects are now in custody. The matter remains under investigation.
The Brooks RCMP would like local residents to be aware of an online fraud scam. Subject(s) meet their victims online or via telephone and pretend to be a military service member overseas in need of a friend to take care of their belongings in the event they pass away. The subject requests money from the victim to process the belongings being transferred to the victim. It appears that one of the most common methods is to have the victims wire the money via Western Union, which makes it very difficult to track down the receiver.
Break and Enter at Marwayne Arena

The suspects were not successful in gaining entry to the safe but caused considerable damage to it, at the expense of a non-profit community organization. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kitscoty RCMP at 780-846-2870 or Crimestoppers.
