Pincher Creek 4-H communication workshop

Foothills Beef Club hosted a communication workshop for the Pincher  Creek 4-H District on Friday afternoon January 10 in the Ranchland Mall.  Participating clubs included Timber Trails, Silver Reins, Chinook Multi Club, and Foothills Beef.


Members from the Foothills Beef Club explained various aspects of oral presentation.

Laura Welsch and Tanis Bruder explained the parts of a speech and how to prepare one well.  Merrick Stauffer and Justin Schoening explained how to collect your thoughts and deliver an impromptu speech.  Tom Welsch and Stewart Lewis explained how to deliver a speech that included a presentation or demonstration, while Kyla Lewis tackled what is the job and what are the responsibilities of being the master of ceremonies at an event.

After the explanation of impromptu speeches all 4-H attendees were split into groups and had the opportunity to prepare a short impromptu speech and present it.

All the 4-H Clubs have a public speaking segment and this was in preparation of the oral presentations the members will give later in the year.
