The Pincher Creek Curling Club held a Funspiel on Friday November 29, and Saturday, November 30.

Twelve teams participated playing 2 games of 7 ends that determined their positioning for the round robin that would finalize positions for the tournament.

This was an excellent opportunity to create a team, and to have fun for both the experienced and casual curler.   Curling Club Executive Member Lana Zoratti was delighted with the success of this event, organized by Jessie Nelson. The club's main goal was to get people out and have fun, and that was definitely achieved.

Pincher Creek Curling Club has planned a number of sessions throughout the season intended for more casual participation and less emphasis on scores than league play.  The next one will be a Turkey Shoot that the club has scheduled for Sunday, December 15.

"There has been a lot happening already," said Zoratti, who is very happy with how curling is once again expanding in Pincher Creek.  She said that the club is now in its third week of league play, and for the first time in three years they have enough members to have a Ladies League in addition to the Mixed and Men's leagues.

Zoratti said that local schools were including curling in their athletic programs and that has sparked interest from younger players.
