Scott Wagner, a successful Entrepreneur for the past 25 years, has declared his intent to seek the Conservative Nomination in Macleod. Scott has always had a deep interest in politics. His focus has been Business up until two years ago when he started to actively pursue his political vision, preparing and awaiting a nomination race. “Leading people, working on Boards, making the most out of limited budgets, and challenging people to be their best have given me great satisfaction. I bring this passion to the challenging world of politics.” says Scott. Focus and tenacity have been Scott’s mantra.
Scott came from a modest rural background growing up in a grain farming community, received a BSc from University of Calgary (1984) and married a rancher’s daughter, Marsha Copithorne (1986). Scott and Marsha have two adult children, Sydney and Emma who are now in college. “I waited until Sydney and Emma graduated from high school to run for politics; politics can be ‘very public’ and I felt it was important that my daughters were independent before making the move into public life.” says Scott
Thanks to our hard work and leadership or the Harper Conservatives Canada is the economic envy of every other G8 nation. “The current Conservative Government has made strides in reducing taxes, reducing regulation, and being tough on crime. I feel strongly that this trend needs to continue. Canada is a great nation and we need strong leadership to compete in the global economy. As well, we need sound stewardship of our resources and the environment in which we live.” says Scott
“I am the person who has the background and ability to look at government from an Entrepreneur’s point of view, maximizing results with limited fiscal resources. I am also a person with a father’s vision of a future for our children.” says Scott www.scott4mp.com
