| George Kovach's 1917 Case Steam Engine C. Davis photos and video |
One of the highlights of the 2013 Heritage Acres Fall Fair was the saw mill demonstration. I've seen George Kovach's 1917 Case steam engine running before, but for me seeing it actually working to power the saw mill was a first. To be clear, the demonstration is a regular feature at Heritage Acres' annual shows, I've just had bad timing before. The Case is a huge and overwhelming beast, wood fired, converting steam into a 65 horsepower multipurpose marvel, used for many things including threshing in the old days.
Here's a brief video of it in action:
This steam engine is a perennial favourite with people of all ages, and rightly so - it's magnificent.
