On Friday September 27, Alberta Treasury Branch (ATB) celebrated their 75th anniversary.  Pincher Creek Branch Manager Adrian Hartman had a hand in the events of the day, which included cupcakes, give-aways, a draw, an exercise session, a time capsule, and special announcements.

Hartman was proud to announce that ATB across Alberta was distributing $236,000 in community investments simultaneously.  The Pincher Creek Branch's contribution toward that total was $1,000.00, which was donated to Windy Slopes Health Foundation (WSHF) that was accepted by WSHF Board Member Jeff Boese.

Those that visited the branch were treated to coffee and cupcakes, and the chance to enter a draw for an iPad Mini that was won by Karen Neufeld later on in the day.  A special blue spruce tree was donated to Pincher Golf Club, and 75 seedling trees were given out to customers, representing ATB's community roots and the hope for continued growth and prosperity.  In that spirit, one of the events celebrating the health of our community was a 75 minute fitness session led by Monster Fitness.

Blake was one of many local grade 4 students who entered his creation, a drawing, into the time capsule to be opened at the 100th anniversary of ATB.  St. Michael's and Canyon school students drew pictures with the theme of "the outlook of Alberta in the year 2038".  Blake was happy to learn that ATB plans to invite the students back in 2038 when the capsule is unearthed, and was excited that he and his family got to participate in the current festivities.

"It is being a great day," said Hartman, who also said he was enjoying being the host of the local celebration.   ATB contributed to 20 recreation facilities and community halls, 17 food banks, and 23 parks and playgrounds across the province.  Click here for a complete list of ATB’s contributions.
