I took at trip to Kelowna to watch our two former Mustangs and current Okanagan Sun members Cord Delinte #31 and Stephen Hochstein #46 play in their first ever CJFL (Canadian Junior Football League) game, a 65-10 Sun win over the Valley Huskers  from Chilliwack on Saturday July 27.. Both dressed and both played. There are approximately 70 players on the team and about 50 or so were dressed. Very few first year players had that privilege...so it was great to see our boys wearing the gear.

Cord Delinte (#31), played on Special teams throughout the game (on Kickoff and Punt Return). On Kickoff, his job was to "Contain," and prevent anyone from getting to the outside on his side and he did that. On Punt Return he was place on the line and sent to block the Husker Punts. He was very close to blocking one and applied good pressure throughout the game. Cord started at strong side safety in the second half and played that position throughout the second half.. The opposition did not beat him deep and Cord was in on 3 tackles. Stephen Hochstein played weakside Linebacker in the 4th quarter and did not look out of place. He read the plays and was around the ball when the ball was run to his side of the field.

Both boys were excited about having the opportunity to play and have adjusted nicely to the Sun organization and living in Kelowna.
